Israeli troops have struck Hezbollah facilities in southern Lebanon, where rocket launchers and weapons depots were stored, according to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).

The Israeli Defense Forces said that it had recently struck Hezbollah's military facilities, where rocket and missile launchers were stored, as well as weapons depots in southern Lebanon.

"The Hezbollah terrorist organization attempts to reestablish its activity in these sites," IDF stated.

Israeli military officials also noted that the presence of weapons and Hezbollah's activities constitute a blatant violation of the agreements between Israel and Lebanon.

"The IDF will continue to operate in order to remove any threat posed to the State of Israel," the military added.

Israel's war with Hezbollah

In the fall of 2023, following the Hamas attack on Israel, the Lebanese group Hezbollah joined the conflict by launching rocket and drone strikes from the north.

In response, in September 2024, Israel launched a ground operation against militants along Lebanon's southern border, aiming to destroy their military infrastructure.

As a result of the operation, key Hezbollah commanders were eliminated, including the longtime leader Hassan Nasrallah. Eventually, the two sides reached a temporary ceasefire agreement. Under its terms, Israel was to withdraw its forces from southern Lebanon within two months, while control over the border zone was to be assumed by the Lebanese army.

However, despite the agreement, hostilities resume periodically.

Just last month, the Israel Defense Forces launched missile strikes on Hezbollah military targets in Lebanon.

In addition, Israel reported the elimination of a Hezbollah Radwan terrorist in the Rab al-Talatin area in southern Lebanon.
