New iPads to be available for sale without charger and company logo sticker: Details
Yesterday, Apple held a presentation where the new iPad Pro and iPad Air tablets were unveiled, as well as accessories. Today, it became known that within the European Union, these devices will be shipped without a charger, in accordance with current legislation aimed at reducing electronic waste, reports the leading news website for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, 9to5Mac.
In Europe, the packaging of iPad Pro and iPad Air will only include a USB Type-C cable, omitting the power adapter. This marks the first time Apple has adopted such an approach, as previously the company's tablets were supplied with chargers. It is likely that in other regions, the new tablets will come with chargers included.
Additionally, Apple announced that the packaging of the new tablets will not include the company's logo stickers. This change is linked to Apple's policy of removing plastic elements from packaging to reduce negative environmental impact.
However, Apple Store employees will have these stickers and will provide them to customers upon request. In contrast, other retail sellers such as Amazon and Best Buy will not distribute the company logo stickers.
