New gasoline restrictions hit drivers in occupied Crimea: What is known

In temporarily occupied Crimea, restrictions on gasoline sales have been tightened. Now, a single driver can purchase only up to 20 liters of fuel, according to the so-called "head of Crimea," Sergey Aksyonov, on Telegram.
"A decision has been made to limit the amount of fuel sold – no more than 20 liters per person. At the same time, public transport, social facilities, utilities, and emergency services will be fully supplied," Aksyonov said.
He added that the restrictions introduced earlier do not allow for "fully stabilizing the situation with the availability of the necessary amount of vehicle fuel at gas stations in Crimea."
Aksyonov also admitted that such measures do not mean that fuel will "appear on the temporarily occupied peninsula this week."
"The amount of fuel that arrived on Friday (September 26 – ed.) was almost completely sold out by Saturday and Sunday before midday," he clarified.
Fuel problems in Crimea
Significant fuel shortages in Crimea have arisen due to successful Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil refineries.
This week, the "authorities" of the temporarily occupied peninsula introduced a restriction – a maximum of 30 liters per person.
Against this backdrop, huge queues have formed at gas stations in Crimea, with corresponding videos shared online.
