Ukrainian operators of the Asgard Battalion of the 412th Nemesis Brigade of the Unmanned Systems Forces successfully struck three Russian air-defense systems at once, according to the press service of the Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces.
According to the Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces, Ukrainian troops destroyed two Tor-M1 surface-to-air missile systems.
In addition, the soldiers eliminated a modern Russian Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile system. Earlier, the 412th Brigade destroyed three Russian air-defense systems within three days, with a total value of about 60 million dollars.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces emphasized that such strikes are critically important, as the Russian forces are experiencing an acute shortage in the production of modern and high-cost air-defense assets. Destroying these systems weakens the enemy’s ability to cover its troops and facilities.
The Buk-M3 is a modern Russian medium-range surface-to-air missile system designed to engage aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, and other aerial targets at distances of up to 70 km. The system is characterized by high mobility, the ability to operate under heavy electronic jamming, and the capability to engage multiple targets simultaneously, making it an important element of Russia’s layered air-defense network.
The Tor-M1 is a self-propelled short-range surface-to-air missile system intended to protect troops and critical facilities from aircraft and precision-guided weapons at distances of up to 12 km. The system can automatically detect, track, and engage targets even while on the move, which gives it high effectiveness in tactical conditions and makes it one of the most widely used short-range air-defense assets in the Russian army.
Earlier, we reported that the Security Service of Ukraine carried out a strike on the Kirovske military airfield in occupied Crimea. Three enemy helicopters and a Pantsir-S1 system were destroyed.
