New record high: In July, Russia launches over 6,000 drones at Ukraine, says OSINT analyst

Russia used over 6,000 attack drones against Ukraine in July alone. This is a new record high, according to OSINT analyst Kyle Glen on Twitter (X).
"After last night's attack, the total number of Shahed and Gerbera decoys launched into Ukraine in July stood at 6,297, an increase of 1,378% compared to July 2024 (426 launched)," Glen said.

He noted that last year, Russia launched that many drones over the period from January to October.
The OSINT analyst also pointed out that Russia used over 6,000 drones against Ukraine for the first time. The series of records continues — in June, Russia launched over 5,000 drones for the first time.
Glen added that there were periods of relative calm in July when Russia did not conduct large-scale attacks. In his opinion, this was due to poor weather conditions.
He noted that Russia’s drone capabilities had significantly increased at the end of 2024 and in 2025.
Night attack by Russia
On the night of July 31, Russia launched another massive strike against Ukraine. The enemy used 8 Iskander-K cruise missiles and 309 attack drones in the attack.
Ukrainian defenders managed to shoot down 288 attack drones and three more Iskander-K missiles.
In Kyiv, the Russian forces’ strike damaged several multi-story buildings. In the Sviatoshynskyi district, the entrance of one of the buildings was destroyed as a result of the attack.
