Never ignore it: Cardiologist reveals first signs of serious heart problems
Cardiologist and professor Anthony Mathur highlights the initial "alarm signals" that should not be ignored, as they may indicate heart failure, writes the Daily Express.
The first sign of heart failure is shortness of breath. It can appear both during physical activity and when you are at rest. Another alarming sign is sudden weakness and fatigue.
"In heart failure, the heart may encounter challenges in supplying adequate oxygen and nutrients to the body, resulting in insufficient blood supply to vital organs and muscles. This can lead to an overwhelming sense of tiredness," explains the expert.

Another early sign of potential problems is swelling. At times, the body may start retaining fluid due to poor heart function, leading to swelling in areas such as the stomach and legs, particularly the feet and ankles.
Monitoring the heartbeat is crucial. An accelerated or irregular heartbeat serves as another alarming sign. Wheezing and coughing, especially if accompanied by blood, should not be overlooked.

"Recognising these signs early is crucial for seeking timely help. While these symptoms can be associated with various health issues, if they persist or worsen, it is advisable to consult with a GP," the publication states.
Do not ignore the signs of heart failure. If you notice that something is wrong with your body, consult a doctor. If you suddenly feel sick, do not delay and call the emergency room.
It's worth noting that the doctor recently explained how to manage hypertension without relying on pills.
