The Netherlands will contribute 65 million euros to Ukraine's energy support fund. The funds will aid in restoring the country's energy system, according to the Ministry of Energy.

Ukraine's Deputy Minister of Energy, Roman Andarak, held an online meeting with the Dutch government's special representative, Erika Scholten, during which they discussed continued support for Ukraine's energy sector.

Andarak expressed gratitude to the Netherlands for its decision to provide 65 million euros to Ukraine through the Energy Support Fund. According to him, these funds will assist in carrying out repairs and preparing for the next heating season.

The Dutch representative assured that support for Ukraine's energy sector will remain one of their priorities.

The parties also discussed Ukraine's energy sector's needs for equipment, particularly for the gas extraction industry, which is regularly targeted by Russian attacks.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine has received 211 shipments of energy equipment from the Netherlands, weighing nearly 3,000 tons in total.

The aid included transformers, generators, a mobile gas power station, cables, and other equipment for the repair and restoration of energy infrastructure.

Dutch aid to Ukraine

It is worth noting that since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Netherlands has been providing military assistance to Ukrainian defenders.

In December last year, the Dutch ambassador to Ukraine, Alle Dorhout, stated that the Netherlands still had 6 billion euros allocated for aid to Ukraine.

Additionally, in January, Ukraine's Defense Minister, Rustem Umerov, stated that the Netherlands would provide aid that would significantly strengthen Ukraine's air defense.
