The Dutch government has announced that it will allocate €250 million to purchase ammunition for F-16 fighter jets in the United States, Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof says.

According to him, the Netherlands has again contributed €250 million to purchase ammunition for F-16s in the United States.

Dick Schoof also promised to provide Ukraine with additional defense assistance of €700 million.

"We must continue to put pressure on Russia and support Ukraine on all fronts, especially in the military sphere," said the Dutch Prime Minister.

Dutch aid to Ukraine

Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Netherlands has actively supported Kyiv by supplying weapons and military equipment to counter Russia.

On December 4, the country announced the allocation of €35 million through NATO's UCAP (Ukraine Comprehensive Assistance Package) program for medical supplies, equipment, and other practical assistance for Ukrainian troops during the winter.

The Netherlands also allocated an additional €250 million under the PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List) initiative to purchase weapons from the US and transfer them to Ukraine.

F-16s for Ukraine

The Netherlands, together with Denmark and Belgium, led an aviation coalition to provide Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets.

In May, the Netherlands transferred all 24 F-16 fighter jets that had been previously promised to Ukraine. On May 27, the last planes flew from the Volkel airbase to Belgium.
