Netanyahu's trip to US served as part of diversion against Hezbollah leader - The Telegraph
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu traveled to New York to make Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah believe that he was safe, reports The Telegraph.
According to an Israeli official cited by The Telegraph, Netanyahu's address to the UN was part of a diversion aimed at convincing Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah that Israel would not act against him while Netanyahu was in the US.
On September 27, Israeli forces launched a strike on the Lebanese capital, Beirut, targeting Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. The attack focused on an underground bunker where the organization's leaders meet. It remains unclear whether Nasrallah is alive.
Iranian agency Tasnim News reports that Nasrallah is alive following the Israeli strike. AFP, citing a source close to the militants, also claims that Nasrallah is fine.
Meanwhile, Israeli television channel Channel 13 reports that the strike on Nasrallah was successful.
In his address at the UN, Netanyahu stated that in the event of an Iranian attack on Israel, the IDF would retaliate.
