Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that he held a conversation with US President Donald Trump, during which the parties discussed the possibility of reaching an agreement with Iran, according to a video address by the Israeli prime minister published by his office.

According to him, Trump believes that the military achievements of Israel and the US can be used to achieve war objectives through diplomatic means.

"President Trump believes there is an opportunity to use the tremendous accomplishments we have achieved together with the US Armed Forces to realize the goals of the war through an agreement — an agreement that will protect our vital interests," Netanyahu said.

At the same time, he emphasized that Israel continues its military operations.

"We continue to strike both in Iran and in Lebanon. We are destroying missile and nuclear programs and continue to deliver serious blows to Hezbollah," the prime minister said.

He added that Israeli forces recently eliminated two more nuclear scientists and are continuing operations.

"We will protect our vital interests under any circumstances," Netanyahu concluded.

US–Iran negotiations

On March 23, US President Donald Trump said an agreement with Iran could be reached within five days or even sooner.

According to him, Tehran wants to negotiate peace. Against this backdrop, Trump ordered a halt to strikes on targets within Iran.

At the same time, according to Reuters sources, the US is negotiating with Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

Ghalibaf himself denied this, stating that no talks with the US are taking place and reaffirming support for Iran’s Supreme Leader.

According to Israeli media, Washington is aiming for April 9 as a possible date for ending the war. Talks between the US and Iran are expected soon.
