From October 27 to November 7, the largest NATO experiment on researching and testing new defense technologies will take place in the Latvian city of Adazi, as well as virtually in several NATO countries, Delfi reports.

During the Digital Backbone Experiment (DiBaX) in Latvia, including the border area with Estonia, planned flights of unmanned aerial vehicles of various types and sizes will be conducted.

Residents are urged not to be alarmed if they see drones and to follow updates on social media.

The experiment will focus on the use of unmanned systems in complex operational conditions and the application of artificial intelligence for target identification and situational awareness.

DiBaX is the only military technology experiment of this scale that NATO has been conducting in Latvia for four years.

The NATO Allied Command Transformation ensures the implementation of new digital solutions into NATO procedures and operations.

The command conducts capability development experiments, as well as conceptual and operational trials, to accelerate the deployment and implementation of NATO's "digital backbone" across the Alliance's structures.

Drone wall

Previously, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen proposed creating a drone wall to protect against hostile UAVs.

The EU emphasizes that expanding drone defense systems should happen quickly, in light of recent airspace violations in several countries.

Recently, seven EU countries, Ukraine, and the European Commission held talks on establishing a drone wall.

Slovak President Peter Pellegrini also stated that his country will do everything necessary to become part of the drone wall project.

The drone wall on the EU's eastern borders could also be used to monitor Russia's shadow fleet.
