The Secretary General added that now, as Ukraine marks three years since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, it is crucial for NATO countries to push even harder for a fair and lasting peace.

Rutte's statements on the end of the war

Recently, Rutte stated that NATO countries must help Ukraine position itself with strength, ensuring that it does not lose the war.

"I strongly urge our allies to provide weapon systems so that the Ukrainians have maximum strength for defense. The US is number one, and Germany is number two," he noted.

Regarding peace talks to end the war, Rutte emphasized that Vladimir Putin is completely unpredictable. However, to achieve a peace agreement, it is necessary for the Kremlin leader to be present at the negotiating table.

According to Rutte, it is necessary to ensure that the results of the negotiations are strong.

The NATO Secretary General also added that it is important that other countries, such as those in the Pacific region, China, and India, understand that it is the West that prevails.
