NATO observes shortage of troops and ammunition in Russia for major offensive - Reuters
Russia lacks the troops and ammunition to launch a major offensive in Ukraine, according to NATO.
At a briefing, an unnamed senior NATO official stated that for a large-scale offensive, Russia would need to secure significant supplies of ammunition from other countries in addition to what it already has.
The official added that Russia has been suffering "very high" losses as it struggles to exploit small territorial gains and lacks the troops and ammunition to mount a large-scale offensive.
According to the NATO official, Russia will be able to sustain its military economy for another three to four years.
He also noted that "it will be some time" before Ukraine gathers the ammunition and personnel needed for large-scale offensive operations.
"We are seeing they're improving day by day," he added.
