NATO Military Committee to visit Ukraine after 8-year break

For the first time in eight years, the NATO Military Committee will visit Ukraine in October. This was announced by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatyi following his first conversation with Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee.
First conversation with NATO Military Committee Chairman
Drapatyi spoke for the first time with Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee. He thanked the Admiral for his personal stance and consistent support for Ukraine at the level of the Alliance's top military leadership.
According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Admiral has visited Ukraine three times and seen the situation firsthand, and this was evident in their conversation.
What was discussed
Drapatyi briefed the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee on the situation at the front and the priorities of the Ukrainian army: long-range strikes, flexible infantry tactics, and the robotization of the front lines. Air defense was discussed separately.
"Defending our skies is my priority," he emphasized.
The NATO Military Committee is expected to visit Ukraine in October. The last such visit took place eight years ago.
Drapatyi emphasized that Ukraine is not merely receiving support from the Alliance.
"We are sharing combat experience that no one else has today, and it contributes to the security of the entire Alliance," he added.
In an interview with RBC-Ukraine, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, spoke highly of the combat experience of the Ukrainian military. According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are involved in Alliance exercises, where they act as the red team and have repeatedly proven themselves to be a formidable opponent.
