NATO's priority remains to maintain a stable troop presence and combat capability. In any case, the level of security in Europe will not decrease, says NATO Military Committee Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

"NATO has not seen any plans related to adjusting the US force posture in Europe," he said.

According to him, in recent days, the US administration has repeatedly reaffirmed its commitment to NATO, the transatlantic relationship, and European allies. "This is what really counts to me,” he added.

Dragone emphasized that NATO has robust defense plans, and the Alliance is working to ensure that it has the necessary capabilities to deter and, if necessary, defend each other.

"If at some time in the future, there will be movements of US troops around or out of Europe, what I am absolutely certain about is that everything will continue to be done in coordination, among all 32 Allies," he said.

The Chairman of NATO's Military Committee added that the priority will be to maintain a stable troop presence and readiness so that the level of security, defense, and deterrence remains the same as it has been for the past 75 years.

The media have repeatedly reported on the plans of the administration of US President Donald Trump to withdraw or redeploy some of the 100,000 troops in Europe. In particular, The Telegraph wrote about the intention to withdraw 35,000 US troops from Germany and redeploy them to Eastern Europe, particularly to Hungary.

The Washington Post reported on plans to withdraw about 20,000 US troops from Europe.
