Poland adopts Ukraine’s battlefield experience to modernize its armed forces, focusing on drones, artificial intelligence, and long-range precision strike systems, according to Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

"The war in Ukraine has shown us that this is a war of a total nature. Every day, hundreds of combat engagements take place along the front line involving traditional weapons such as tanks, artillery, and infantry," he said.

Kosiniak-Kamysz noted that Russian forces carried out 904 attacks along the front line in just the past week. He highlighted several key achievements of Ukraine's military:

  • Ukraine's sea and underwater drones have effectively neutralized Russia's Black Sea Fleet;
  • Ukraine's aerial and ground drones have enabled successful strikes against strategic targets deep inside Russian territory.

"It started at sea with surface and underwater drones. In fact, it effectively neutralized the Black Sea Fleet. Later, aerial and ground drones were added," the Polish defense minister said.

Poland's military modernization priorities

Kosiniak-Kamysz said Poland is implementing these solutions and expanding its own capabilities across land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace. The country's top modernization priorities include unmanned and counter-drone systems, artificial intelligence, long-range precision strike capabilities, and satellite reconnaissance.

He added that all recruits will undergo mandatory drone training, while drones will become standard equipment across every branch of the Polish Armed Forces.

Earlier, Ukrainian officials warned that Russia may be preparing false-flag operations against NATO member states in an attempt to undermine support for Ukraine.

Possible scenarios include the use of drones disguised as Ukrainian to attack the Baltic states and stage provocations against Poland.
