NATO condemns violation of Romanian airspace by Russian drone
Last night, during another Russian drone attack, one of Russia's drones violated Romanian airspace. NATO condemns such actions, states NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoană.
"NATO condemns the overnight Russian airspace violation of Romanian airspace," wrote Mr. Geoană.
He added that although the Alliance has no information indicating a deliberate Russian attack on NATO allies, such actions are irresponsible and potentially dangerous.
What is known
On the night of September 7-8, Russia once again attacked Ukraine with drones. Most of them were spotted in the Odesa region.
At 02:49, the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that a Russian drone had crossed the border of Romania and entered the airspace of this country. The drone was in the territory of the NATO country for almost an hour. At 03:41, it was reported that the drone left Romania.
Russian drone crash in Latvia
Yesterday, a Russian military drone crashed in eastern Latvia, as stated by Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs. An investigation is currently underway.
He noted that the number of similar incidents on NATO's eastern flank is growing.
According to the National Armed Forces (NAF), the drone entered Latvian airspace from Belarus.
