Preparations for the rapid deployment of additional Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine are already underway, according to NATO commander Alexus Grynkewich.

"Preparations are underway, we are working very closely with the Germans on the Patriot transfer," he said at a conference in the German city of Wiesbaden.

Patriot delivery to Ukraine

US President Donald Trump said on July 14 that part of the Patriot missile defense systems should arrive in Ukraine within a few days.

However, according to Reuters, US allies learned of Trump's plan immediately after its announcement, and the main question is who will transfer the Patriot batteries and when.

Kurt Volker, former US ambassador to NATO, said that Ukraine could ultimately receive 12 to 13 Patriot batteries, but it could take a year to deliver them all.

US President Donald Trump has already stated that the first Patriot systems are being shipped to allies, which means that Ukraine will receive them soon.

However, Germany has not yet confirmed Trump's statement that Patriot systems are already being delivered to Ukraine.
