The German government has denied US President Donald Trump's claim that Patriot air defense systems are already being delivered to Ukraine, SRF reports.

"I cannot confirm that anything is currently on the way. I am not aware of anything," says a spokesperson for the German Ministry of Defense.

He also noted that a virtual conference of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG) will be held this Monday. The goal will be to find solutions to unresolved issues to deliver Patriot systems to Ukraine as soon as possible.

Trump approved Patriot delivery to Ukraine

Trump recently told reporters in Washington that the first Patriot systems had already been shipped, adding that they are coming from Germany.

On July 16, it became known that after another Russian attack on Ukraine, US President Donald Trump himself called German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and supported the German leader's initiative to help Kyiv.

Recently, Trump has been increasingly expressing dissatisfaction with Russia's attacks on Ukraine. He recently stated that as a result of the hostilities in Ukraine, up to 7,000 people from both sides are dying every week.

Against this backdrop, there have even been reports in the media that he has transferred part of the military aid to Ukraine according to the list provided by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

On July 14, it became known that the US and NATO had concluded an agreement under which American weapons, in particular air defense systems, would be supplied to Ukraine, with the costs covered by European partners.
