National Guard on situation around Pokrovsk: Russian army wants to advance in south
Russian forces are attempting to advance on the southern flanks in the Pokrovsk area. Their goal is to take control of logistical routes, according to a statement from the spokesperson of the National Guard of Ukraine, Ruslan Muzychuk, during a national telethon live broadcast.
"We are observing enemy attempts to advance along the southern flanks of Pokrovsk with the aim of, among other things, gaining control of logistical routes and expanding the gray zone," Muzychuk said.
He specified that the enemy is using infantry groups for their offensive, consisting of two to ten servicemen. Additionally, the Russian troops are taking advantage of weather conditions.
Muzychuk noted that the National Guard repelled eight enemy assault attempts in the Pokrovsk direction over the past day.
The spokesperson also highlighted that Russian forces have been using armored vehicles less frequently. Instead, they mostly rely on automotive vehicles and motorcycles.
