National Defense Council on Russian strikes on Ukraine's energy system: 'Our response will be potent'
In the event of shelling by Russian forces on energy facilities in Ukraine, like it was last year, the Defense Forces will now "powerfully respond" to such attacks, said Oleksiy Danilov, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC).
"There is a clear understanding that the enemy will not go unpunished if it continues this," the official noted.
After yesterday's briefing yesterday, Danilov also commented on President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's words on preparations for possible Russian shelling of Ukraine's energy system and confirmed that such enemy attacks this year will not go unanswered.
"We must respond to everything. Moreover, our response will be potent. When you see it, you will understand what it is about," the Secretary of the NSDC emphasized.
Preparation for possible strikes by Russian Forces on Ukrainian energy objects
Yesterday, on October 25, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced Ukraine's preparation for possible strikes by Russian forces on energy objects and responses to such attacks after holding another operational meeting.
The head of state emphasized in his video that this year, the country will defend itself and respond, and "the enemy knows it well."
Recently, Ukrainian Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko stated that in the event of strikes by Russian occupiers on energy objects this autumn-winter period, power outages in the country are possible. However, such "blackouts" will not be prolonged.
