NASA is set to launch the Europa Clipper spacecraft next year on a research mission to Jupiter's moon, Europa. The space agency invites everyone interested to submit their names to be sent into space aboard the mission, according to NASA's publication on social media platform X (Twitter).

The cosmic message in a bottle

"Send your name to Jupiter aboard our Europa Clipper spacecraft. We'll use an electron beam to etch your name, your friends' and family members' names, even your pet's name onto a special chip. Cost: $0.00," NASA announced.

This initiative is called the Message in a Bottle. As part of it, not only will recorded names on microchips head into space, but also an ode by American poet Ada Limón dedicated to Jupiter's moon, titled "Europa."

It's worth noting that the Europa Clipper spacecraft will cover 4.5 billion kilometers to reach the moon. Its mission is to explore whether conditions for life exist there.

Additionally, Europa is slightly smaller than the Moon, with a surface primarily made up of ice, among the smoothest in the Solar System. Due to the scarcity of craters, scientists speculate a subsurface water ocean, suggesting the potential for life.

Another significant indicator of potential life is Europa's extremely thin atmosphere, predominantly composed of oxygen.
