What preceded

On the afternoon of March 28, an earthquake hit central Myanmar. The magnitude reached 7.7, followed by an aftershock with a magnitude of 6.7 just minutes later.

Eyewitness reports and social media footage indicated significant destruction in Mandalay, Myanmar’s second-largest city. Buildings, religious structures, and major roads were either destroyed or damaged.

Earlier, The Guardian reported that six deaths were also confirmed in Bangkok, Thailand’s capital, where a high-rise building under construction collapsed, trapping dozens of workers. Another 26 people were injured, and 47 are still missing.

It is known that Thailand's authorities are using drones equipped with thermal imaging technology to search for survivors. The country's leaders have reason to believe that at least 15 people are still alive.
