A comment saying that Volodymyr Zelenskyy had "gone too far" appeared under US President Donald Trump's statement that it was time for Ukraine to have a new president, according to a comment by American billionaire and Twitter (X) owner Elon Musk.

The billionaire responded to a post by the White House rapid response account Rapid Response 47, which published a video of Trump's statement.

"Zelenskyy has gone too far," Musk wrote.

In just one hour, the comment received more than 330,000 views and around 17,000 likes.

In the video, Trump criticized Zelenskyy for failing to reach a deal despite having numerous opportunities to do so. The US president urged Ukrainians to elect a new leader capable of reaching an agreement and said it was time for Ukraine to have a new president.

This was not the first time Musk had made harsh statements about the Ukrainian president. In February 2025, he claimed that Ukrainians allegedly despised Zelenskyy and accused him of corruption without providing evidence. In March of the same year, he called for elections to be held in Ukraine, insisting that Zelenskyy would lose.

The conflict between Kyiv and Washington has escalated over an agreement between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin on supplying Russian diesel to global markets. Zelenskyy called the deal unfair and Alaska 2.0, saying that the Ukrainian delegation had been used as a smokescreen.
