Billionaire and former chief White House adviser Elon Musk said he has been invited to a summit of leading US technology company executives, according to CNN.

Elon Musk said he would not attend the event.

"A representative of mine will be there," he added.

According to a White House representative, the guest list includes Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Apple CEO Tim Cook, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.

The report noted that Musk’s invitation could be a sign of warming relations with the White House. In recent days, public remarks from Trump and Vice President JD Vance suggested they might once again welcome Musk back into their circle.

In an interview with CNN this week, Trump described Musk as "a man of common sense," a "good man," even though he "got off the reservation incorrectly."

On July 5, Musk announced the creation of his own political party, which he called the American Party. He said it would stand in opposition to Donald Trump’s Republican Party and aim to compete for two to three Senate seats and eight to ten seats in the House of Representatives.

These initiatives came against the backdrop of Musk’s conflict with Trump. Musk publicly accused the president of links to the Jeffrey Epstein case, to which Trump responded by threatening to cut federal funding for Musk’s projects.

By July 20, however, US media reported that Musk was likely putting these plans on hold.
