Movement to border crossings with Moldova restricted in Odesa region after Russian attack

Movement to some border crossings with Moldova in Odesa region was restricted following Russia's overnight attack on August 9, according to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the press service of Moldova's Customs Service.
As a result of the enemy strikes, traffic was temporarily restricted on a section of the Odesa-Reni highway. This made it impossible to travel to and from some border crossings with Moldova in the direction of Odesa.
The State Border Guard Service advised citizens to take this information into account when planning their trips. Further updates on the resumption of traffic will be provided separately.
At the same time, Moldova's Customs Service said that the Palanka-Maiaki-Udobne border crossing was operating only for entry into Moldova.
Travel out of Moldova was temporarily possible only through the Tudora-Starokozache border crossing.
Traffic in Odesa region has been partially restored.
Overnight attack on Odesa
As a reminder, Russian forces launched a combined attack on Odesa on the night of August 9, using drones and ballistic missiles. The attack caused damage and injuries.
Infrastructure and residential buildings were damaged. Several residential buildings in two districts were damaged and partially destroyed. Residents' cars were also destroyed or damaged by fire.
Following Russia's massive overnight attack, parts of Odesa were left without electricity and water. Electric public transport was temporarily suspended.
According to the Air Force, Russia attacked Odesa region that night with ballistic, anti-ship and anti-radar missiles: Iskander-M/S-400, Oniks and Kh-31P missiles, launched from occupied Crimea and the Black Sea.
