More than €6 billion for Ukraine: EU agrees funding terms

EU member states have agreed on the terms for providing Ukraine with €6.6 billion from the European Peace Facility fund, according to EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas.
"€900 million is for the EU’s Military Assistance Mission for Ukraine. €1 billion will fund new joint procurement of equipment," she said.
Kallas said another €4.7 billion would be allocated to reimburse member states for their expenses. She added that some of these countries have already said they would direct their share to Ukraine.
Earlier, Ukrainian Finance Minister Sergii Marchenko said the state budget would need $52.6 billion in external financing next year.
According to him, only $20 billion of that amount has been confirmed so far, while another $32.6 billion remains uncertain.
In addition, Marchenko said Ukraine expects to receive $29.5 billion from Western partners by the end of the year under a number of support programs. This would help avoid a budget crisis and eliminate the need for the Cabinet of Ministers to cut a number of expenditures.
