More than 30 Turkish companies ready to participate in reconstruction of Ukraine - Ambassador
More than 30 Turkish companies are ready to participate in the reconstruction of Ukraine. A legal framework for cooperation has already been established, reports Ukraine's Ambassador to Türkiye, Vasyl Bodnar, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
"The list of companies currently in line to participate in the reconstruction already consists of approximately 34-36 companies, with which we have already had relevant communications. There was a business forum in January. A legal framework has been created—a memorandum has been signed between our Ministry of Infrastructure and the Turkish Ministry of Trade," emphasized Bodnar.
He explained that a working group has been formed to identify priority projects.
The ambassador noted that a visit to Ukraine by this group is expected soon, including representatives from both the Turkish state and businesses, who will be able to identify priority areas and work with the Ukrainian side to implement these projects.
"An important aspect is involving third parties. We have already established cooperation with the Japanese side. Last year, we even held a relevant trilateral forum. Now, some Turkish companies have found Japanese partners with whom they are working on specific sectors for equipment supply and forming projects for the reconstruction of various areas in Ukraine," Bodnar emphasized.
Cooperation between Ukraine and Türkiye
At the beginning of May, the Cabinet of Ministers approved and submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a draft law on the ratification of the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and Türkiye.
Last month, Türkiye ratified the free trade agreement with Ukraine. RBC-Ukraine explained why this is important.
