Meetings in the London and Paris formats will continue. This format will continue to function, stated Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi during a conversation with users on X.

"We are confident that this format will continue to function. There will be even more meetings of this kind. Some of them are already at work, but I cannot yet disclose the location or the date because it is a process that is ongoing, and we do not want to harm this process," he said.

According to Tykhyi, the format has proven effective. It provided an excellent opportunity for the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov to exchange views with their French, British, and German colleagues, as well as their counterparts from the United States.

The spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry added that Ukraine appreciated both the hospitality of the French and British partners, as well as the constructive cooperation and discussions with all its participants.

Negotiations in London on April 23

On Wednesday, April 23, negotiations were held in London involving Ukraine, the US, the UK, France, and Germany. Initially, the meeting was planned to be at the ministerial level, but US Secretary of State Marco Rubio ignored it.

As a result, the negotiations took place at a lower level, with national security advisors participating. However, the defense ministers and foreign ministers of Ukraine and the UK held separate bilateral meetings. The US delegation was represented by Special Presidential Envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg.

Meeting in Paris

On April 16, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff arrived in Paris. Their visit was aimed at supporting Donald Trump’s peace initiatives to resolve the war between Ukraine and Russia.

During the visit, Rubio and Witkoff met with French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss potential paths to peace.

A meeting between Ukrainian representatives and the Coalition of the Willing also took place at the Élysée Palace. Ukraine was represented by the Head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. Representatives from the UK, Germany, and France were present from the Coalition of the Willing.

Later, Rubio and US Special Envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg stated that Ukrainian and US delegations also met in Paris. They emphasized that the Trump administration is focused on working towards ending the war in Ukraine and described the meetings at the Élysée Palace as productive.
