Moldovan government: Russia cuts heat in Transnistria, resorts to blackmail
Russia attempts to blackmail Moldova through Gazprom. It has left the residents of Transnistria without heat, according to Moldova's government spokesperson, Daniel Vodă.
According to him, the right bank of Moldova has electricity and water due to responsible decisions. The energy resources such as electricity, heat, and gas are supplied from Romania, Ukraine, and the European market. Moldovans, state institutions, and companies pay for these resources and do not have debts.
"Russia, through Gazprom, is trying to blackmail us, leaving people in Transnistria without heat, and spreading disinformation, accusing its subsidiary of debts that have been refuted by an international audit," Vodă added.
Transnistria left without gas and hot water
Previously, it was reported that after Ukraine ceased Russian gas transit, Transnistria lost gas supply.
Moldova's government clarified that Russia refused to provide gas to the region through alternative routes.
Meanwhile, the government of Transnistria has rejected European gas supplies. The president of Transnistria has demanded that Moldova pay the debts of Tiraspoltransgaz to Gazprom.
