As a result of the massive missile strike by the Russian Federation on Ukrainian territory, 45 people were injured. Another four individuals have died, reports the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"In three regions of Ukraine, emergency and rescue operations are still ongoing following the strikes by the Russian army: the Donetsk, Kherson, and Khmelnytskyi regions," the statement reads.

The President adds that unfortunately, this morning began again with a massive missile attack, expressing gratitude to all rescuers, police, and municipal workers.

"Kharkiv and its region, the Zaporizhzhia, Kryvyi Rih, Khmelnytskyi region. 45 people were injured, and at this time, we know of four fatalities. My condolences to their families and loved ones. The terrorist state will surely feel our response," the President states.

Shelling of Ukraine

Since the morning of January 8, Ukraine had announced an air alarm. The Air Forces reported the takeoff of the MiG-31K. The entire map turned red within minutes. Explosions occurred in Dnipro, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and anti-aircraft defense systems were active in Khmelnytskyi. Kryvyi Rih was hit by a massive missile strike, and industrial facilities in Kharkiv were targeted by the Russian Federation.

Earlier, the Deputy Head of the Office of the President, Oleksii Kuleba, stated that 34 people were affected by the Russian strike.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russian terrorists attacked Ukraine with Shahed kamikaze drones and over 50 different types of missiles during the night and morning of January 8. Air defense forces managed to destroy 26 enemy targets.
