Mirage 2000 already in Ukraine, and additional F-16s also arrived - MoD

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has received long-awaited reinforcements. Today, February 6, the first French Mirage 2000 fighter jets and F-16s from the Netherlands have arrived, according to the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
"The Ukrainian sky is becoming more secure! These modern combat aircraft are already in Ukraine and will soon begin carrying out combat missions, strengthening our defense and enhancing our ability to effectively counter Russian aggression," Minister Umerov explained.
He also expressed gratitude to France for this strategically important contribution to Ukraine's security.
"The Mirage 2000 will become a new element in protecting Ukrainian skies," the minister emphasized.
At the same time, Umerov noted that the support from the Netherlands is another significant step bringing Ukraine closer to victory and ensuring the reliable protection of Ukrainian cities and citizens.
"We continue systematic work with our partners to increase the presence of modern combat aviation in Ukraine. I thank our allies for their trust, determination, and unwavering support for Ukraine!" the defense minister concluded.
Mirage 2000 for Ukraine
Last summer, French President Emmanuel Macron officially announced Paris' plans to transfer Mirage 2000 fighter jets to Ukraine. At the time, media reports indicated that Ukraine would receive a modernized version of the French aircraft.
Today, French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu stated that Ukraine has received its first French Mirage 2000 fighter jets.
