Fighters from the Third Assault Brigade conducted a successful offensive in the Kharkiv region, regaining territory and freeing Ukrainian soldiers from captivity, according to the Telegram channel of the Third Assault Brigade.

The brigade reported that their fighters attacked the enemy and eliminated reconnaissance and sabotage groups. The outcome of these battles not only resulted in regained territory but also the liberation of captives.

"These are service members from attached forces, including a career officer with the rank of captain, a sergeant, and soldiers. They are currently safe and receiving medical assistance," the report stated.

The Third Assault Brigade succeeded in not only pushing back the enemy but also stabilizing the brigade’s position along the front line.

Background

At the end of August, the Third Assault Brigade conducted counteroffensive operations in the Kharkiv region. As a result, Ukrainian forces managed to advance nearly 2 square kilometers into the enemy’s defensive positions. The brigade captured a battalion defense area and several platoon and company defense areas of the Russian forces.

Commander of the Third Assault Brigade Andrii Biletskyi noted that these actions diverted the attention of Russian troops from the direction of Makiivka.

Recently, Ukrainian soldiers seized trenches and removed an enemy radio from a killed Russian soldier. During the clearance operation, they also found a live Russian soldier who pleaded for his life and revealed details about his unit.
