A meeting of the military chiefs of countries willing to send troops to Ukraine to ensure peace will take place on March 11, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Zelenskyy revealed that the upcoming meeting was discussed with French President Emmanuel Macron during a session of the European Council in Brussels today.

"We discussed the upcoming meeting, which is scheduled for March 11 at the level of military representatives of countries willing to make greater efforts to guarantee security as we work towards the end of this war. We coordinated our positions and next steps," Zelenskyy said.

Ukrainian President also thanked Macron for his clear and principled position on supporting Ukraine and on the need for new, more serious steps to protect the whole of Europe.

"We have a clear, shared vision that real and sustainable peace is possible through cooperation between Ukraine, all of Europe, and America. The war must end as soon as possible," Zelenskyy emphasized.

Meeting in Paris

France has scheduled a meeting of military chiefs from countries that could assist Ukraine.

President Emmanuel Macron suggested that peace in Ukraine may require the presence of European soldiers. These troops would not fight on the front lines but would stay in the country after a peace agreement is signed to ensure full compliance with the terms.

Next week, Macron will host in Paris the chiefs of staff of the countries willing to take responsibility for this mission. Media reported that Macron will be present at the meeting.

European contingent in Ukraine

European countries are currently discussing the possibility of sending a contingent of troops to Ukraine, but this will only occur after Ukraine and Russia sign a peace agreement. According to rumors circulating in Western media, European countries are ready to send up to 30,000 soldiers to Ukraine.
