As reported, during a meeting of the leading group of the drone coalition held the day before, Ukraine informed its partners about the situation on the battlefield and the urgent needs to repel enemy attacks.

In turn, the Minister of Defense of Latvia, Andris Sprūds, called on those present to remember daily that the war continues, so it's time for all participants to join in supporting the initiative, which is gaining momentum and awaits the accession of new countries.

Drone coalition

On December 12, 2023, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, and his Latvian counterpart, Andris Sprūds, discussed the creation of a drone coalition.

In January, Sprūds mentioned that over 20 countries had already joined the drone coalition, including:

  • Sweden
  • Denmark
  • Germany
  • Lithuania
  • Estonia
  • Netherlands

According to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, the group of Alliance countries wants to provide Ukrainian defenders with a million drones as part of military assistance.

As Umerov reported, the drone coalition officially launched on February 17th.
