As of the morning of June 18, more than 380 Ukrainians have confirmed their desire to leave the territory of Iran and Israel, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Ukraine.

Since the deterioration of the security situation in the Middle East began, the MFA has been monitoring the appeals of Ukrainian citizens who expressed a desire to leave for safer regions or return home.

The diplomatic embassies of Ukraine in Israel have already evacuated some citizens.

As of June 18, more than 400 appeals have been received on the embassies’ hotlines from Ukrainians to obtain explanations about possible evacuation routes. In particular, the necessary instructions are posted on the resources of the diplomatic mission.

Currently, 293 Ukrainians have confirmed their intention to leave Israel with the assistance of the embassy, and 85 citizens wish to leave Iran, as well as 10 foreigners who have a permit for permanent residence in Ukraine.

"The Department of Consular Service of the MFA and the embassies of Ukraine in Israel and Iran are working out some evacuation routes for citizens, both by separate flights and jointly with partners. Diplomats are also continuing to clarify citizens’ data and resolve organizational issues," the MFA said.

War between Israel and Iran

On June 13, Israel launched a military operation under the name Rising Lion, striking at military and nuclear infrastructure facilities of Iran. As a result of the attack, dozens of high-ranking officers and specialists involved in the development of Tehran’s nuclear program were killed.

Since then, mutual shelling continues daily between Israel and Iran.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel, Gideon Sa’ar, stated that Iran has a “strategic plan” to destroy his state.
