Microsoft removes popular Windows feature: What will change for users

Microsoft is preparing for a change that may take remote workers and IT professionals by surprise. If you're using the Remote Desktop app for Windows, you should be prepared: it will be disabled on May 27, reports Android Authority.
This means that the usual way to connect to Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, or Microsoft Dev Box will no longer be available. Instead, Microsoft suggests using the Windows App.
According to Microsoft, Windows App will provide a more convenient and modern interface for managing remote services, improved support for multiple monitors, and optimization of Microsoft Teams.
However, there will be no automatic transition - users will have to switch to the new tool manually before shutting down the old application.
For those using Remote Desktop Services or connecting to remote desktops, a smooth transition is not guaranteed. Microsoft recommends that you temporarily use RemoteApp and Desktop Connection or Remote Desktop Connection until Windows App fully supports these connections.
IT administrators are advised to start preparing now to avoid problems until Remote Desktop is disabled. Fortunately, users have a few more months to adapt to the changes.
