Founder of The Jackson 5, Michael Jackson's older brother Jermaine has been accused of rape, which, according to the victim, occurred in 1988.
RBC-Ukraine reports this information with reference to Rolling Stone magazine.

The lawsuit was filed by Rita Barrett, who collaborated with Michael Jackson as a music contractor, and also through the founder of Motown Records, producer Berry Gordy.

She alleges that the older brother of the late singer forcibly entered her house, attacked her, and engaged in violent actions. At the time of the attack, she was praying, fearing for her life.
The lawsuit mentions companies Jermaine L. Jackson Music Productions and Work Records, associated with the artist. The amount of the legal claims was not specified.

Supposedly, the day after the incident, Rita Barrett turned to Berry Gordy, hoping for his support.
However, the producer deemed it better to keep this information hidden for many years to preserve the profit from collaborating with Michael Jackson.
"This is about her power and the declaration of it when she learned something could be done under the law, and she found the strength and support to find us and is now standing up for herself and others," said the victim's lawyer, Jeff Andersen.
The musician himself, who has not been accused of sexual violence before, has not commented on the allegations against him.
Recently, Vin Diesel from Fast and Furious movie has also been accused of sexual harassment.
