Mi-8 helicopter crashes in Russia's Oryol region, no survivors (video)

A helicopter crashed in Russia's Oryol region on Friday, May 23. According to preliminary reports, the helicopter crew died in the crash, the Russian news resource Baza reports.
During the day on May 23, a helicopter, presumably a Mi-8, crashed in the area of the settlement of Naryshkino in the Uritsky district of Oryol region. It reportedly fell on the grounds of an abandoned chemical plant. A fire broke out after the crash, and eyewitnesses reported a series of explosions.
According to Russian Telegram channels, two members of the helicopter crew died - presumably the pilot and the flight engineer. Footage published online shows a thick column of smoke rising over the crash site.
According to Russian rescuers, an aviation danger alert had been issued in the region at the same time. Russian media reported that the helicopter was flying toward the Smolensk region, heading to its airfield in the Vyazemsky district.
Online sources note that the cause of the crash was engine failure.
In early April, a Tu-22M3 bomber crashed in Russia's Irkutsk region. The cause of the crash was a technical malfunction.
A week before that, a Su-25 attack aircraft crashed in Primorsky Krai. According to Russian sources, the pilot reportedly ejected.
