Ukraine and the United States share a common goal — a just peace in Ukraine. Specific steps will be discussed during the upcoming meeting of the two countries' presidents, according to a statement by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi at a press conference for the media.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhii Tykhyi, stated that key issues regarding peaceful resolution and potential compromises will be discussed during official contacts between the Ukrainian and American sides.

"Let us wait for the official contacts between the Ukrainian and American sides. During these contacts, it will be possible to discuss all the parameters, approaches, and key details you would like to hear about today," Tykhyi said.

According to him, Ukraine and the new US administration share a common goal — achieving a just peace in Ukraine as soon as possible. The methods, steps, and pathways to achieve this goal will also be discussed during the negotiations.

"We are looking forward to these contacts, particularly the meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and the United States. This meeting will clarify everything," he added.

Marco Rubio, immediately after his confirmation by the US Senate as Secretary of State, commented on ending the war between Russia and Ukraine.

The politician stated that for peace to be achieved, each side will have to give something up.
