MFA confident that Ukraine will achieve extension of arms deliveries from US

In Ukraine, efforts are underway to ensure that the supply of American weapons continues even after the delivery of the aid promised by the Joe Biden administration is completed, states the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhii Tykhyi, at a briefing.
Tykhyi was asked how much time Ukraine has left until the end of the military aid from the US, which was allocated by the Joe Biden administration.
The spokesperson replied that it is better to ask the military for specific timelines, as they have detailed knowledge of this information.
"I can emphasize that, first of all, Ukraine is actively engaged in dialogue with the US regarding the purchase of American weapons. Ukraine is ready to buy American weapons, including air defense systems, Patriots, and other equipment that we have been receiving from the US all these years," he added.
According to Tykhyi, American weapons can be purchased from various funding sources.
The official clarified that American aid to Ukraine continues to arrive. Active work is underway with Washington to purchase weapons, including through the recovery investment fund foreseen by the natural resources agreement. The agreement explicitly includes the possibility of compensation with weapons.
"I dare to assure the Ukrainian public that Ukrainian diplomacy is working and doing everything to ensure that American weapons keep coming. And I am confident that we will find modalities and solutions that will allow us to receive the necessary American weapons, equipment, licenses, if needed, and other things. And the work on this continues," Tykhyi said.
Weapons from the US
Ukraine currently receives only those weapons from the US that have been approved by the Joe Biden administration.
At the same time, US President Donald Trump has not yet made any decisions on arms supplies to Ukraine.
Recently, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy suggested that the United States should provide Ukraine with new military aid at the expense of funds previously allocated by Congress.
