These passes allowed him to equal Ferenc Puskás's historic record (404 career assists).
However, it can already be stated that Messi is the greatest playmaker in the history of world football. All of his contributions are documented in official match reports, whereas Puskás's statistics, spanning his career from 1942 to 1967, cannot be confirmed with certainty.

In total, Messi now has 1,300 goal contributions (896 goals and 404 assists), which is a world record in football.
