Frontliner has released footage of an F-16 fighter jet in combat on one of the frontline directions, according to Frontliner founder and editor-in-chief Andrii Dubchak.
"Silence. Frost. We are making a report on a heavy drone unit in the field. Suddenly, we hear a recognizable increasing roar of a jet engine, and a plane flies at ultra-low altitude towards the front, just beyond a nearby tree line," Dubchak described.
According to a soldier who spoke to journalists, the aircraft was an F-16 with additional fuel tanks. A minute or two later, it turned around and flew back.
"The F-16 left engine trails in the sky at the spot where it released its deadly payload during a rapid climb toward the attacking Russian army. That lifted our spirits," the Frontliner editor-in-chief added.

Delivery of F-16 to Ukraine
In 2023, Ukraine and its allies created an aviation coalition to provide Ukraine with F-16 combat aircraft. According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine needs at least 128 F-16 fighters.
In August 2024, it became official that the Defense Forces received the first F-16s from the Netherlands and Denmark. Meanwhile, Belgium plans to deliver 30 fighter jets by the end of 2028.
