Massive police raid across Ukraine: Over 500 searches in crackdown on illegal weapons

In Ukraine, more than 500 searches are being conducted as part of a large-scale special operation by the National Police aimed at combating the illegal circulation of weapons and ammunition, according to the National Police of Ukraine.
The operation is ongoing throughout the country and is being carried out in coordination with the Office of the Prosecutor General and other law enforcement agencies.
According to law enforcement officers, the goal of the measures is to reduce risks for citizens, prevent crimes involving illegal weapons, and uncover channels of their illegal circulation.
"These actions are aimed at increasing the level of security in society, preventing crimes related to the use of illegal weapons, as well as their illegal circulation," the National Police noted.
More details will be provided by law enforcement after the completion of all investigative actions.

Illegal arms sales
RBC-Ukraine has already reported how the SBU, together with the National Police, prevented attempts to establish illegal sales of weapons and ammunition in various regions of Ukraine.
At that time, law enforcement officers managed to detain four dealers who were illegally transporting weapons from former combat zones and trying to sell them to criminal elements.
Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police also stopped attempts to illegally sell weapons and ammunition in the Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, and Kirovohrad regions. Five criminals were arrested "red-handed."
Earlier, law enforcement officers arrested dealers who were selling trophy machine guns and explosives also in several regions of Ukraine.
