Previous attacks on the Novoshakhtinsk refinery

As previously reported by Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD), the oil refinery in Novoshakhtinsk, Russia, plays an important role in the country’s defense industry.

This current attack is not the first time the facility has been targeted by drones. However, the exact number of previous strikes has not been officially recorded.

For example, on December 24 of last year, satellite images appeared online showing the aftermath of an attack on the Novoshakhtinsk refinery. The images and video indicated that at least one fuel tank was burned during the attack.
