A fire broke out at a thermal power plant (TPP) in Moscow on Thursday, March 13. Footage of the large-scale blaze is being shared online, according to Russian Telegram channels.

It is known that TPP No 16, located on Tretya Khoroshovskaya Street in Moscow, caught fire.

According to the SHOT Telegram channel, the fire occurred on the roof of an eight-story building. Russians report that emergency services are heading to the scene.

In the footage published online, the fire appears to be quite large. Eyewitnesses are sharing images of thick black smoke rising above the TPP.

Earlier, on the night of March 13, Russians reported drone attacks in several regions. The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that between Wednesday evening and early Thursday, air defense systems allegedly intercepted 77 drones:

  • 30 over Bryansk region;
  • 25 over Kaluga region;
  • 6 each over Kursk and Voronezh regions;
  • 5 each over Rostov and Belgorod regions.

The governor of the Voronezh region complained about a drone attack that caused a fire at an infrastructure facility.

In the Kaluga region, a fire broke out at an industrial enterprise following a drone strike.

Additionally, a gas station in the Saratov region was attacked. Russian media suggest that the target was most likely the Gazovaya power substation.
