On the night of March 13, air defense was activated in the Kaluga region of Russia due to drone strikes. The air attack caused a fire on the territory of an industrial enterprise, damaged a communication tower and a power line, and left one person injured, according to Kaluga region Governor Vladislav Shapsha.

In the morning, a Russian official reported on the repulsion of a drone attack on the region and spoke of the alleged elimination of 25 UAVs overnight.

According to him, the drones were intercepted and destroyed on the territory of Dzerzhinsky, Khvastovichsky, Kirovsky, Duminichsky, Mishchevsky and Ulyanovsky districts.

At the same time, the Russian official said that the fall of one of the UAVs caused a fire in the technical building of an industrial enterprise in Dzerzhinsky district.

“The fire was promptly extinguished. One of the employees of the night shift of the enterprise was injured with a light degree of severity,” he said.

In addition, a communication tower and a power line in Khvastovchansky district were damaged due to the UAV falling down, the governor adds.

Drone attack on Russia

On the evening of March 12, several regions in Russia reported an air attack involving drones. It was reported that UAV attacks were recorded in Kaluga, Saratov, and Volgograd. In addition, temporary restrictions were introduced at the airports of these cities.

In the morning, the governor of the Rostov region said that the drone strike had caused a landscape fire at the site of the UAV crash in the Kalininsky village of Sholokhovsky district. According to the official, the burning of dry grass in the field did not damage the nearby industrial facility.

That night, the Voronezh region also reported a fire at an infrastructure facility due to a drone attack.

In addition, in the morning, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on the alleged interception and destruction of 77 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in six regions overnight. In particular, according to the aggressor country's defense ministry, they were eliminated: 30 drones in the Bryansk region, 25 drones in the Kaluga region, 6 drones in the Kursk region, 6 drones in the Voronezh region, 5 drones in the Rostov region, and 5 drones in the Belgorod region.
