Air defense systems were deployed in the Voronezh region on the evening of March 12 due to detected drones. An infrastructure facility was damaged, resulting in a fire, according to the official statement.

On the evening of March 13, Voronezh Governor Alexander Gusev confirmed that a fire broke out at an infrastructure facility following a drone attack. He stated that emergency services were working at the scene, and no casualties were reported.

While initial reports suggested damage to a second facility, Gusev later clarified that this was not confirmed. He also urged residents not to share videos or images of the incident online.

Drone attacks across Russian regions

On the evening of March 12, residents in several Russian cities, including Kaluga, Saratov, and Volgograd, were warned of a potential drone attack. Temporary restrictions were introduced at local airports.

Earlier, on the night of March 11, drones reportedly targeted multiple regions, including Moscow suburbs, Ryazan, and Kursk. Moscow authorities reported a large-scale drone attack that caused damage and casualties, prompting the implementation of the Kover air defense protocol at all major airports. The Russian military airfield Dyagilevo in Ryazan was also reportedly hit.
