Explosions rocked the occupied city of Shakhtarsk in the Donetsk region, hitting an oil depot, according to monitoring channels.
Loud explosions were heard in the temporarily occupied city. Kamikaze drones were spotted over the area.
Monitoring channels reported that the strikes hit an oil depot. Videos posted online showed powerful explosions and a bright glow visible from a long distance.
Russian social media channels, citing the Shakhtarsk administration, claimed there were no casualties, injuries, or significant damage following the drone attack.
Strikes on Russian refineries
Ukraine continues to ramp up production of long-range drones and missiles, striking Russia's energy infrastructure almost daily. Attacks on refineries and power plants have already caused fuel shortages and supply disruptions.
These strikes have triggered a fuel crisis inside Russia and disrupted logistics for its military. Russian leader Vladimir Putin called the attacks an attempt by Kyiv to show its "Western backers" some success, but said they would not help Ukraine.
Ukraine has shown it can hit targets deep inside Russia — from ports to oil refineries far from the front line.
RBC-Ukraine earlier reported that Russia labeled Robert "Madyar" Brovdi, Ukraine's drone chief, a "terrorist" over large-scale strikes on refineries. In response, Brovdi vowed that there would be even more attacks on Russian territory.
