New data about the Xiaomi 17 Max smartphone launch has appeared online. The device is expected to debut in China in May and will become the final model in the brand’s flagship series, according to GizMochina.
Xiaomi 17 Max: what is currently known
According to the new data, the Max model will not be just an enlarged copy of the base version. The smartphone will receive top-end hardware and specifications that bring its performance close to the Pro Max version.
Key specifications:
- Display: flat 6.9-inch OLED panel with 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate;
- Processor: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5;
- Memory: up to 16 GB of RAM (LPDDR5x) and up to 1 TB of internal storage (UFS 4.1);
- Battery: 8,000 mAh capacity with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging;
- OS: HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.
The device will also feature an under-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, symmetrical dual 1115 speakers, and an X-axis linear vibration motor.
Professional-level cameras
One of the main advantages, according to developers, is the smartphone’s camera module. According to preliminary information, the Xiaomi 17 Max will be equipped with a triple-camera system:
- Main sensor: 200 MP (size 1/1.4 inch);
- Ultra-wide lens: 50 MP;
- Periscope telephoto lens: 50 MP (sensor 1/1.95 inch).
The front camera will have a 50 MP sensor.
The device may lose some secondary features, such as an additional rear display.
Interestingly, initial rumors indicated an April announcement, but new data has shifted the date to May 2026. There is currently no information on the smartphone's global release.
